THE LAST TRUE CATS TOUR: THE CATS UK & EUROPE TOUR CASTS 2013 - 2014

At the start of this tour, I swore I wasn't going to get attached - I didn't think it was possible to grow as fond of a cast as I had the 2006 Cats cast. But this amazing bunch of 2013/14 Jellicles quickly proved me wrong, and they did it in style, finding their way into my heart on and off the stage through a combination of talent and charisma in order to become some of my very favourite performers to play these parts and some of my very favourite people to know on the planet. So many really, truly special and surprising memories were formed on this tour, so many beautiful moments were shared and precious friendships formed. And it will, most likely, be remembered also, to me, as the last true Cats tour, as, when the tour was drawing to a close, Andrew Lloyd Webber announced that, despite the immense talent performing the show on tour, and despite their seamless, glorious portrayal of the show at the time of it transferring to the West End, the creative team was going to be making changes to the score, characters, design...and the show was, perhaps, irrevocably changed and a truly beautiful cast were sadly let down. “I think about how we can’t always live in the moment because moments pass, and when we’re lucky, we have the kind of moments that we can’t help wanting to go back to. We think about them, remember how they felt, and when more time passes we tell stories of these moments that are worth reliving.”
