Birmingham Hippodrome, September 2007
Another magical night at the Jellicle Ball which made us grow yet fonder of the new cast, unfortunately just as their tour was about to take them further away from our area! We were determined to make a real event out of the trip, dressing up in our fanciest outfits and exploring the Birmingham Hippodrome for the first time with much curiosity. It was a lovely, warm late-summer night and it felt so much more carefree and relaxed than a theatre had in a while for us; we had finally stopped worrying about what dumb things we might say or do (I save that for when I get home now!) and who we might get the chance to talk to and we just wanted to get back into the spirit we had had before the cast change had made everything seem more crucial somehow - we wanted to return to winging it and enjoying the moment more, and the main memory I have of everything that night was just how contented and easy it all was to finally feel we had the stage door thing down and that we really shouldn't have wasted so much time before stressing and worrying!
