A Selection of Stage Door and Performance Tribute Videos Made By Me:
I have put together a lot of tribute videos for the Cats UK, Portugal, Italy and Germany tour casts of 2006-2008 and of my stage door experiences. Whilst looking back on some of them now I do feel a little silly, I still love them as they tell the story of my stage door journeys. And the performance videos? They bring back some beautiful memories of the amazing performances I was lucky enough to watch by a ridiculously talented group of people.
'At The Stage Door' → The Crazy, Random Highs And Lows of the Cats Stage Door/The Cats Tour Fangirls Between 2006-2008.
This is almost a video of summary of this site in a way - it's basically just my way of summing up just how crazy and wonderful mine and Liz's time with the Cats UK Tour was between 2006-2008. There were highs and lows, laughs and random moments and they were some of the best times of my life. The video is set to an except from 'The Jellicle Ball' from the 1998 'Cats Ultimate Edition' DVD.

'A Year At Stage Door' → A Look At Our Year With The Original Cats 25th Anniversary UK Tour Cast 2006-2007.
This is simply a look (and listen) to the year that started my fascination with all things stage door; Liz and I at stage doors between 2006 and 2007, spending time with the original 25th Anniversary Tour Cast, up to and including the night of the cast change. The video is set to 'Snow (Hey Oh)' by the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
|
'Priceless' → The Bristol Hippodrome Stage Door in November/December 2006 Done In The Style Of The Old Mastercard Adverts.
|
'Reach Out' → A slideshow tribute to the incredible performances of the Cats 25th Anniversary UK, Portugal Cast 2006-2007.
A nod to their incredible power to move and touch audiences up and down the country, this slideshow video was made as a very specific tribute to the original 25th Anniversary Cast. The video is set to 'Reach Out' by Take That.
|
'We Can Dance' → A 'Thank You' to several members of the Cats 25th Anniversary UK, Portugal & Italy Tour Casts 2006-2008.
This video was made to thank Ryan Dixon, Alex Durrant, Rachel Ensor, Dean Maynard, Zak Nemorin and Trevor Schoonraad. We grew particularly close to these cast members and for all of them except Ryan Dixon, they were the 'last ones standing' from that first variation of this cast who had set out back in 2006. The video is set to 'We Can Dance' by The Feeling.
|
'Shine On' → A 'Three Years On Tour' Tribute to the Cats 25th Anniversary UK, Portugal & Italy Tour Casts 2006-2008.
I made this video as a tribute to the casts who I had had the priviledge to watch between 2006 and 2008. The tour was finally coming to an end, and, although several members of the cast who had stayed on to tour Italy headed across to do a tour of Germany at the end of 2008/the start of 2009, the end of the UK Tour's stint in Italy still felt a lot like the end of a beautiful era and a time in my life I will never forget. The video is set to 'Shine On' by James Blunt.
|
'The In Crowd' → A Tribute To 'The In Crowd' of the Cats 25th Anniversary Stage Door!
'The In Crowd' as we called it consisted of Liz and myself and our two favourite cast members Kevin McGuire (Carbucketty) and John McManus (Skimsbleshanks) and it was a tag we came up with for the group after we had a photograph taken of all four of us together in Sunderland. This video is just a little tribute to the good times we spent being part of that little group of four and it is set to 'Dreams' by Gabrielle.
|
'Stage Door Friends O' Mine' → A Tribute To Our Stage Door Friends of the Cats 25th Anniversary UK Tour 2006-2007.
Just a silly little video made after our trip to stage door at the Sunderland Empire Theatre, by which point we were starting to get a bit of a reputation with the cast and they started making us feel very included when we visited them after the show. The video is set to 'Friends O' Mine' by Bowling For Soup.
|
'Sunderland Stage Door Report' → A 'Trip Report' From Our Day With The Cats 25th Anniversary UK Tour Cast at The Sunderland Empire Theatre.
This video was made as a 'stage door report' for the website Liz and I used to run for the Cats 25th Anniversary UK Tour Cast and it is set to 'Just Can't Get Enough' by Sam Walker.
|
'We Love To Entertain You' → A Tribute to the Energy and Work of the Cats Casts of 2006-2009.
This is just a fun little video about how the Cats 25th Anniversary and Germany tour casts entertained audiences between 2006 and 2009. The video is set to the song 'We Love To Entertain You' by Take That.
|
'Hark! The Herald Angels Sing' → A Christmas Tribute to the Cats Casts of 2006-2009.
This video was made as a Christmas tribute to the Cats 25th Anniversary Casts from 2006-2008 as well as the German Tour Cast of 2008-2009. It's also a little bit of a Christmas Jellicle Ball too! Set to a rocked up version of 'Hark! The Herald Angels Sing'. sung by Busted.
|
'Human' → A Tribute to the Incredible Dancers of Cats the Musical's Tour Casts.
Are they human or are they dancer?! A tribute to the incredible spectacle and talent of the Cats 25th Anniversary and Germany tour casts between 2006 and 2009. The video is set to 'Human' by The Killers.
|
'Greatest Day' → A Tribute to the Magic of Cats When Performed Live.
This video is an attempt to capture all the hope and possibility you feel when you sit down to watch a live performance of Cats, and also to a certain extent, a way of showing that same feeling of anticipation as felt by the cast and the characters. The video is set to the song 'Greatest Day' by Take That.
|
'Halo' → A Look At the Jellicle Ball Through Grizabella And Victoria's Eyes.
This is video I did with the idea of both Grizabella and the other Jellicles (especially Victoria) reflecting on their relatioship and the events of the Jellicle Ball. The video is set to 'Halo' by Beyoncé.
|
'The Garden' → A Reflective Tribute to the Post-Show Feeling .
This video was inspired by the feeling in the song of reflecting on something magical which is now over, but the peace and wonder it gave you remains. The lyrics of this song really make me think of how it feels to come home after a show, and I like to think it also gives a sense of how the cast/characters might feel when the joy of the Jellicle Ball is over. The song is 'The Garden' by Take That.

'The Rythm Of The Night' → A Celebration of the Jellicle Ball & the Incredible Dancers Who Performed It On TourIn UK & Europe from 2006 - 2014.
This video is both a tribute to the incrdible dancing of The Jellicle Ball but also to the dancers and performers who so beautifully perform those dances night after night on tours across the UK and Europe. This video is just all about the fun, the joy and the wonder of watching these talented people do their thing in a show that really lets them give you a proper taste of just what they can do! The casts featured in this video are from 2006 right up to 2014 and is set to Of The Night by Bastille.
'Time To Pretend' → A Bittersweet Jellicle Tribe/Cats Tour Cast Tribute.
This video can be looked at two ways; it is both a tribute to the Jellicle Tribe and to the casts who portrayed them between 2006 and 2009. This video is a bittersweet, reflective look at both the sadness and the joy in performance, noting the sadness that it has to end, the strangeness of 'playing pretend' as casts and Jellicles so often do and the strangely transient life of the tribe and the tours. However, I like to think it simultaneously celebrates the beauty and wonder of the spectacle of the Jellicle Ball. The video is set to 'Time To Pretend' by MGMT.
|
'Hold Up A Light' → A Celebration of the Cats Casts' Performances from 2006-2009/ A Celebration of the Jellicle Ball.
This video is again both a tribute to the performers themselves and to the Jellicles. A tribute to the amazing performances and energy of the Jellicle Ball, showed as though dreamed by Victoria. The clips are from the Cats 25th Anniversary UK Tour Cast between 2006 and 2008 as well as clips from their stint in Italy and the subsequent tour of Germany between 2008 and 2009. The video is set to the song 'Hold Up A Light' by Take That.

'The Best Day Of My Life' → My Year Of Theatre & Stage Door Adventures in 2013.
|
'These Days' → My Year Of Theatre & Stage Door Adventures in 2014.
|
This is a video celebrating my year of crazy back-to-back theatre trips in 2013! It was a real year of theatre and stage door for me, what with Dean Maynard joining Billy Elliot, Rachel Ensor being in a tour of West Side Story which was Stoke-on-Trent bound, and, of course, Cats being on tour once more! 2013 had so many stage door adventures, memories and moments; there were new friends and there were some lovely moments with old ones and I had a lot more fun than I could possibly have imagined. I honestly had so much fun at every single stage door and show I visited and every time I felt like I was having the best day of my life. The video is set to 'The Best Day Of My Life' by American Authors.

2014 was really The Year Of Carbucketty: I said
goodbye to Joel Morris as CB in April, went on to meet two fabulous new Carbuckettys in the forms of Ryan Gover
and Dane Quixall, and then, just when I thought I couldn't be any
happier...guess who came back to the Cats tour? Joel! And as if there wasn't enough Carbucketty-ness in my life I
went to see Top Hat, to see former understudy Carbucketty Matthew Caputo
dance up a storm, alongside my dear old friend from the 2006 Cats tour John McManus! Between Cats, Top Hat
& a few trips to see Billy Elliot again before Dean Maynard left in
May, 2014 had A LOT of theatre in it. I don't think I have ever danced, smiled or cried so
much simultaneously as I did in 2014! The video is set to 'These Days' by Take That.
